Steps for Entry

Each class requires clinical components. Lateral Entry teachers do this in their own classroom/school. Career Switchers will need to be available a few hours each semester to visit public schools to apply their learning.

For Full-Time Lateral Entry Teachers - Fax your RALC or UNCC. Be sure to include what course you'd like to take, your email and your phone number!!!  Don't forget to apply online as a student in the lateral entry program. Without that, I cannot issue your permissions to enroll.

For Career Switchers -

  1. Decide on a teaching field and grade level
  2. Contact UNCC (graduate certificate program) or RALC for a licensure plan
  3.  Enroll online as a CPCC student - lateral entry program
  4. Apply for a SNAP / CPCC Login account
  5.  Get advising and continue your program
  6.  Finish your program w/a 4-year school (last 3 competencies only).
