The Solexico Language and Cultural Center offers an excellent immersion program of 5 hours of Spanish instruction per day by experienced native instructors. The learning atmosphere is relaxed and communicative.

The students’ exposure to the culture, people, and vitality of Mexico will take place in a seaside resort area in the heart of the Mayan Riviera. Playa Del Carmen is located forty minutes from Cancun, and is center to many major archeological sites within the Yucatan peninsula. Students will travel with Soléxico to at least two of these ancient Mayan sites during their stay as part of their cultural enrichment; the pyramids at Chitzen Itza and the temples at Ek Balam. In addition, they will visit modern day working Mayan villages where they will be able to directly view Mexican rural life, and gain a deeper understanding of cultural differences between our two countries. After visiting these villages, students will then travel to beautiful colonial Mérida, the state capital of Yucatan. There they will be able to experience the contrast between Mexican rural and urban life, participate in the city’s weekend music festival, and tour the local anthropological museum.

Students will also be exposed daily to Hispanic culture within the school through tools such as traditional foods, dance lessons, musical gatherings, and evening socials with the friends and staff of Soléxico.

This course will include pre-departure and onsite meetings with and guidance from your CPCC instructor.
