Phlebotomy
MLA 8001:
General Information:
The CPCC Phlebotomy program can be completed in one semester. It is offered in spring and fall. This program is patterned on requirements of the American Society of Clinical Pathology (www.ascp.org), enabling participants to sit for certifying examinations. This program is recognized by local employers.
Program Information:
The Phlebotomy program consists of one course, 176 hours in length. The course is divided into two parts: classroom and clinical. The first 48 hours of the course are spent in lecture in the classroom setting. Upon successful completion of this portion of the course, students will enter into the 8-week clinical portion of the course. Students will spend two (2) 8-hour days per week for eight (8) weeks in clinicals. During this time, students will be required to perform 100 “sticks” and 120 clinical hours to successfully complete the program.
