Testing

In order to be eligible to register for MLA 8001, students must take Test #543 (Reading and Math Skills Evaluation) at one of the CPCC testing Centers listed below.  

This is NOT the CPCC Placement Exam - CPCC Placement Exam is not applicable.

Registration will depend on satisfactory scores from test #543 and seat availability.

 

Central Campus

Located in the Central High Bldg - (Formerly Grainger Bldg)

Mon-Thurs.      7:30a.m. - 6:30p.m.

Friday               7:30a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

 

North Campus

Huntersville location (704.330.4100)

Mon-Fri         Call for Testing hours

 

Levine Campus

Matthew's location (704.330.6886)

Mon-Thurs.         8:00a.m. - 6:00p.m.

Friday                  8:00a.m. - 2:00p.m.

 

There is no appointment or fee for the screening test. Please allow 1 - 1½ hours to complete the test. You will be notified of your test results by mail in 7-10 business days. Please do not call our office for test results. If you have not received your results within 2 weeks, you may come to our office with a valid picture ID to request them. While on campus, go to the Registration Office to create/update your student master file.

    

   

If you received satisfactory scores, then you must send proof of high school completion (copy of diploma, GED, or transcript) to Barbara Bostic. Once received, register for MLA 8001 during the next CPCC registration period.

If you did not receive satisfactory scores, you will receive a referral to ABLE, a free program to help you improve your results.
