Police Investigative Technician - Latent Prints (Crime Laboratory)
This is a non technical administrative support position that is assigned to the CMPD Crime Laboratory Latent Fingerprint unit. This position will support the Latent Fingerprint Analysts and function under the direct supervision of the Latent Supervisor.
Illustrative Examples of work:
- Assist Latent Analysts in the preparation of case files.
- Enter case assignments and technical service request into the Laboratory Information Management system.
- Receives routes and disseminates reports and other information to Detectives, the DA's office or other Departments.
- Maintain files, records, data bases and latent fingerprint files.
- Maintain supplies and inventory for Office and processing Lab. Ensure proper ordering of supplies in accordance with Department procedures.
- Maintain all Material Safety Data sheets, log books, maintenance and training records.
- Manage and prioritize request for service.
- File reports, file latents, recover and file known standards.
- Any other administrative functions as directed by the unit supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Any combination of education, training and experience that has provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for acceptable job performance.
- Graduation from High School supplemented by clerical and or administrative training.
- Clean criminal and employment history with the ability to pass an extensive background investigation, drug test and polygraph examination.
- Must be highly computer literate with very strong organizational skills.

Salary Range: Hiring range depending on qualifications.( $28,489.00 - $35,612.00 )
