The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office is recruiting candidates for the position of Deputy Sheriff.

Hiring Range: $31,923.920 to $41,900.145

Responsibilities/Qualification
This is the first level in the Sheriff series. Incumbents are responsible for enforcing the statutes of North Carolina, and all local and federal laws, as well as following the rules and regulations set forth by the Sheriff of Mecklenburg County. Incumbents may be assigned to various areas.

- High School Diploma, or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License, Basic Law Enforcement Training.
- Special Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age prior to hire date.
- Must be a U.S. citizen .
- Must be able to pass a physical fitness test .
- Must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Must not have had a DWI conviction within the past three years.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
