Vision: What we intend to become

Library Services at Central Piedmont Community College seeks to become the national model among community college libraries for best practices in information management, service delivery, change management and leadership.

Mission: What we do

The CPCC Libraries directly support and strengthen teaching and learning by continually developing student-centered and learning-centered collections, services, and environments that lead to life-long educational development.

In pursuit of this mission, the CPCC libraries will:

1. Serve as the primary gateway for access to information for the CPCC college community by organizing, managing, and delivering information.
2. Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative library services that support teaching and learning.
3. Instruct and educate the college’s diverse and non-traditional communities on the use of library resources.
4. Collaborate with the college’s faculty and staff to provide print and electronic library resources that directly support the college’s programs.
5. Foster learning environments that are student-centered.
6. Promote information literacy skills that ensure students gain a competitive advantage as they enter the 21st century workforce.
7. Facilitate resource-sharing via interlibrary loan and courier across a network of six full-service libraries at geographically separate campuses.
8. Lead community colleges in both North Carolina and the United States in developing and assessing innovative library services.
