Journal Finder FAQs
Journal Finder Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is Journal Finder?
Journal Finder is an integrated search interface that allows you to determine if a journal is available electronically through one of the databases or in print at one of the CPCC Libraries. If the title you are searching is not available either online or in print, Journal Finder links you to the catalogs of other local libraries and to the form to request an interlibrary loan.

Can I only find scholarly articles in Journal Finder?
No! Journal Finder also includes magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and other publications that come out more than once a year.
Which periodical titles are in Journal Finder?
Journal Finder contains lists of all journals, magazines, newspapers, and newsletters that:
- The CPCC Libraries offer immediate online access to the full-text of the title, or
- The CPCC Libraries own some printed issues of the title
I was searching in a database and saw a link that said to “Check Journal Finder for full text availability.” What does that mean?
That means that Journal Finder will search to see if the article you are trying to access is available full-text in another one of the many databases accessible through the CPCC Libraries. Click on the link, and if the journal is available, click on the title. On the next screen, just click on the title of the article and you should be taken to the full-text.
Is Journal Finder a good place to find articles on a particular topic?
No! To find articles, try starting with the subject listing of databases (http://www.cpcc.edu/library/db_test/defaultBySubject_dhtml.asp).
