Responsiblity of Classroom Consumables

Current guidelines for supporting the cost of classroom consumables.

Use of computer classrooms or smart classrooms confers obligation for the room's consumables.

Consumables are defined as those items which are "used/consumed" and must be replaced.  Marker pens, printer paper, printer toner cartridges, and projector bulbs are typical consumables.

If a computer classroom is a dedicated space, or a particular program uses a room the majority of the time (50% or greater), then that program area will cover the consumable costs.  In rooms that are shared among two or more program areas, the cost will be evenly dispersed to all programs utilizing the classroom.

ITS will purchase necessary items and charge the program areas.  In the case of dedicated spaces, ITS will supply the ordering information to the program area.

A program's lab fees are appropriate funds for supporting consumable costs.  If no lab fees are charged then a supply budget should be indentified to support these costs.
