What services and resources does Instructional Development support?
Content and media development
- IDev supports faculty in their development of instructional content and media for eLearning delivery.
- IDev provides training and support to college employees on how to incorporate best practices and technical standards in the production and publishing of their content.
Blackboard
- IDev provides user support and training to college employees who are utilizing the Blackboard learning management system (LMS) for delivering online courses and training.
- Technical support and system errors are provided by ITS. For example, server error messages and issues of system performance are handled by this group and requests should be directed to the Help Desk.
- Support for students who are using Blackboard is provided through the Help Desk.
Moodle
- IDev provides user support and training to college employees who are utilizing the Moodle course management system (CMS) for delivering online courses and training.
- Technical support and system errors are provided by ITS . For example, server error messages and issues of system performance are handled by this group and requests should be directed to the Help Desk.
- Support for students who are using Moodle is provided through the Help Desk.
Software
There are a limited number of software applications that are offered by and supported by Instructional Development for the creation of content. For these, please contact the eLearning Support Hotline (contact info at the top of this page) for assistance. The Help Desk may not be prepared to provide detailed support for these tools.
