A: The quickest way to transfer to a four-year school is by meeting the minimum course requirements. To do this, you must earn 24 credits hours: two college level courses in Math, English, Natural Science, and Social Science.
Q: Do my advancement study courses earn me college credit?
A: No, advancement study courses do not count toward degree requirements. Instead, they serve as prerequisites for the college level courses.
Q: Do Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degrees transfer to NC four-year institutions?
A: As a rule, AAS degrees do not transfer to NC four-year institutions. Some general education credits will transfer, but you will lose many credits from an AAS degree program. AAS degrees are designed to help you learn the skills necessary to be successful in the workforce; they are NOT designed to transfer. There are a few exceptions to this rule. In addition, courses at CPCC are significantly less expensive than at other schools. Also, the classes are generally much smaller at CPCC, so you willl get more personal attention while you are here.
