Uniform Standards
Uniforms must be purchased at the CPCC Bookstore.
Chef's Jacket
CPCC culinary arts chef's jacket. Available at the bookstore. If a T-shirt is worn under the jacket, it must be solid white. Price varies by size: $20.00 to $29.00.
Pants
Black and white check professional chef's pants. Available at the bookstore. They must fit well and be of acceptable length. Pants cannot be tattered or torn. Price varies by size: $34.00 to $37.00.
Hat
CPCC culinary arts hat. Available at the bookstore. Bandanas or other unapproved head coverings may not be worn. Price: $12.00.
Apron
Four-way reversible white apron. Available at the bookstore. Price: $6.00.
Shoes
Shoes should be comfortable and low-heeled. Rubber heels are preferable. Closed-toe, leather shoes, and socks are required. They should be in good condition and appearance.

Side Towel
Two (2) side towels. They cannot be tattered or torn.
Name Tag
A free name tag is provided and is to be returned at the end of class. It is to be worn on the chef's jacket directly above the logo.

Personal Appearance
- Make-up should be moderate and natural, and give a fresh, wholesome appearance.
- No jewelry except for a wedding band. Visible body jewelry, including tongue studs, nose rings, and earrings, may not be worn.
- Hair should be clean, conservative, well-groomed, and neat.
Mustaches and beards are allowed if neatly trimmed.
Hair longer than shoulder length must be braided or tied back.
No extreme styles or ornamentation. - No perfume or cologne may be worn.
- All students are required to bathe daily.
- Fingernails should be clean and medium length.
No nail polish or false nails may be worn.
All garments and accessories must be clean and well-maintained. Plan on purchasing a minimum of
- two (2) Chef Jackets,
- two (2) Aprons,
- one (1) Hat, and
- one (1) Pair of Pants.
Religious Attire
Attire required by a student's religion will be accommodated if and to the extent accommodation can be accomplished consistent with the interests of CPCC and in maintaining appropriate standards of health and safety. Request for accommodation of religious attire must be submitted in writing to the Program Chair. No deviation from the lab dress will be permitted unless and until the request for accommodation is granted.
