On April 26th, 2008, in the full bloom of Charlotte's magnificent spring weather, Central Piedmont Community College's Foundation sponsored Skyline Run celebrates its thirteenth annual event.  An extraordinary success, over 10,000 participants have run or walked since the race's first year in 1996. Generally acknowledged by runners as one of the “class” running events on the local scene, the race begins and ends on the Central Campus of CPCC, which enjoys an unparalleled view of Charlotte's downtown skyline, and includes a tour of the lovely and historic Elizabeth Neighborhood of Charlotte. Proceeds from the race (more than $500,000 to date) are used to support student scholarships and other programs at CPCC, and are managed by the CPCC Foundation, Inc.
