Creating Opportunities
The Campaign for Central Piedmont Community College
Central Piedmont Community College has embarked on most ambitious fund raising initiative in its history. Creating Opportunities is a $15,000,000 campaign to address the College's most pressing priorities and needs.
In a time of decreasing public support for education, it is imperative that CPCC look to private support in order to continue to provide outstanding educational and job-training opportunities. The following priorities will be supported by the Creating Opportunities campaign.
*Scholarships: $10,000,000
In the past year, CPCC was unable to meet the financial need of more than 4,500 potentail students. The College must be able to assure that these students are able to realize the benefits of higher education. This scholarship goal will provide access to CPCC for thousands of needy students each year.
*Instructional Programs: $2,000,000
CPCC strives to provide cutting edge programs which address the evolving demands of an increasingly complex and technologically-advanced world. Since public funds are not provided for the development of new programs, the College must look to private sources. By realizing this goal, students will be prepared for advanced learning and careers in a variety of emerging fields.
*Faculty Support: $2,000,000
Throughout its history, CPCC has been blessed with a talented, dedicated teaching faculty. The 285 full-time and 1,500 part-time faculty members bring a wealth of knowledge, talent, and experience to the learning environment. Through the campaign, funds will be raised to allow the College to retain and recruit outstanding faculty.
*Annual Support and Special Opportunities: $1,000,000
The annual, unrestricted support of friends, alumni, faculty, staff, and businesses are essentail to the well-being and vitality of the institiution. Annual gifts provide the operating support which allows the College to continue to deliver quality programs and services; also, such funds give the College the ability to respond to developing needs.
The campaign will provide a steady stream of annual, unrestricted gifts to the College.
The success of this ambitious undertaking will translate into success for Charlotte-Mecklenburg--benefiting individuals, business and industry, and the public sector.
