Castano, Cindy

Cindy Castano is a respected producer of National Geographic documentaries including the Emmy Award winning Stalking Leopards.  Her latest piece entitled My Slave, My Infidel  was presented at the 2008 CPCC ArtsFest. This film depicts the story of indigenous non-Arab Sudanese tribes in South Sudan and Darfur. Ms. Castano is an expert on slavery and genocide in Sudan.  She is the founder of the 501c3 non-profit Frontline Foundation and serves on the board of directors of Darfur Peace & Development Organization and Sudan Rowan.

 Fisher, TomCPCC alumnus Tom Fisher is recognized as a visionary, in the areas of Internet, eCommerce and High Tech sectors.

 Tom credits his Alma Mater, Central Piedmont Community College for inspiring him to succeed. After obtaining his associate degree from CPCC, Tom went on to graduate Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations.

Intrigued by computers and statistics, Tom returned to CPCC to learn computer languages and computer programs. This helped to launch Tom’s stellar career in senior executive positions at notable companies such as:

  • DriveCam

  • Qualcomm

  • eBay

  • Gateway

  • Exactium

  • Seer Technologies

  • Knowledgeware, Inc.

  • IBM

Now residing in San Diego, Tom demonstrates his gratitude and loyalty to CPCC by contributing to the college.
