CPCC To Celebrate Successful Capital Campaign
College Raises More Than $21.8 Million To Support Students, Faculty, and Programs

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) has raised the bar in community college fundraising, with more than $21.8 million provided to the College to support students, faculty, and instructional programs. On Thursday evening, February 15, at 6:00 p.m., College administrators and top CPCC supporters will celebrate the success of the campaign with a reception and program at the Halton Theater, located in the Overcash Academic and Performing Arts Center (Central Campus).

As a result of the generous contributions from the Charlotte community, CPCC exceeded its original $15 million goal by 88%. The “Creating Opportunities” capital campaign, which began five years ago, brought in 8,734 gifts to the College totaling $28,192,497. The funds will be used to support student scholarships, instructional programs, and faculty support. More than $14 million will be used to provide scholarships for students who don’t qualify for financial aid but need assistance.

The successful campaign was led by honorary co-chairs John and Claudia Belk. Chairpersons for the campaign were Tommy and Patty Norman.

”Our goal at CPCC is to be financially accessible to the members of this community and provide top quality instruction,” states Dr. Tony Zeiss, President of CPCC. “The Creating Opportunities capital campaign provides us with critical funds needed to support our students and faculty. We are extremely appreciative to the more than 8,000 donors who helped make the campaign a tremendous success. We also are deeply indebted to our honorary chairs, John and Claudia Belk, and our chairs, Tommy and Patty Norman, for their outstanding leadership and support.”
