The N.C. State Employees’ Credit Union Two-Year College Scholarship
An annual award distributed in two payments: fall semester, $1,250 per student; and spring semester, $1,250 per student.
To qualify as a candidate for this scholarship, eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an applicant or full-time student, who is a graduate of a N.C. high school, enrolled in an associate degree, diploma or certificate program.
- Be a U. S. citizen and a resident of N.C. under NCGS 116-143.1, and is eligible for in-state tuition.
- Demonstrates financial need using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Demonstrates scholastic achievement with a 2.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Uses the scholarship to pay for tuition, books, fees, course supplies and transportation.
- Continues at the college where enrolled at the time of the scholarship award and for the duration of the scholarship.
- Not hold the position of Director of the State Employees’ Credit Union or the SECU Foundation or be a family member of an employee of SECU or its Foundation.

NC REACH: Educational Assistance for Adoptees and Foster Youth
NC Reach is a college support program designed to help recipients attend and graduate from any N.C. state college, university, or community college without incurring debt. Students receive a grant to assist them with tuition and school-related expenses, as well as comprehensive support services to help them succeed academically.

Eligible students are those who have aged out of N.C. foster care at age 18, or those who have been adopted from N.C. foster care on or after their twelfth birthday. Students may qualify through age 25.

NC State Employees CU and NC National Guard Association
State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation has partnered with the N.C. National Guard Association (NCNGA) Educational Foundation to provide a $10,000 scholarship to be awarded for study at one of the UNC System universities and a $5,000 scholarship to be awarded for study at a community college within the N.C. Community College System. The recipients, to be selected by the NCNGA Educational Foundation, must be a son, daughter or grandchild of a soldier or airman assigned to a unit in the N.C. National Guard that has been placed into any military service and has become permanently disabled or deceased during active duty.

C.L. Robbins Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Requirements:
· Applicants must be from Lenoir, N.C., or from Caldwell County, N.C.
· Applicants must be high school seniors or enrolled in a junior or community college
· Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement
· Applicants must demonstrate worthiness of character and leadership
· Applicants must demonstrate financial need
Recipients must attend one of the following junior or community colleges: CPCC, Kings College, Patterson School, Western Piedmont CC, Caldwell CC, Catawba Valley CC, Lees-McCrae College, Wilkes CC

Mecklenburg Medical Society
The Mecklenburg County Medical Society awards several scholarships each year to deserving undergraduate students who are preparing for a career in the health care field. These scholarships are intended for students who are residents of Mecklenburg County OR who attend a college or university in the immediate Mecklenburg County area.
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of achievement and anticipated service in the health care field, not on the basis of economic need, although this may be a consideration used by the scholarship committee. Applications available in Financial Aid.

American Welding Society Scholarships
The American Welding Society is proud to offer scholarships available to students currently pursuing welding degrees. Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship Program
International experience is critically important in the educational and career development of American students, but it can also require a substantial financial investment. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program brings the experience of studying abroad within reach of those students traditionally underrepresented in international exchange programs.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is a congressionally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education through its Southern Regional Center in Houston, Texas. The goal of the Gilman International Scholarship Program is to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go.
The Gilman Program supports undergraduates who are recipients of the Federal Pell Grant and awards scholarships of up to $5,000 for study abroad for up to one academic year. In addition students who study a “critical-need” language are eligible for one of the 25 Critical Need Language Supplements of $3,000, for a possible total award of $8,000.

Crib to College Next Step Scholarship
There are no age restrictions for this particular scholarship, you can be of traditional college age or a non‑traditional age student who is looking to continue or further their education.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Be enrolled in a North Carolina Community College
- Have a minimum of GPA of 2.5 or better
- Be in the "transfer" program and will be attending a four‑year college or university in the Fall of 2008
Applicants will be required to:
- Fill out an application, available online
- Answer an essay question relating to your desire to continue or further your education at a four‑year college or university
- Submit 3 letters of recommendation ‑ one from a family member, one from friend or community member, one from an educator/teacher
- Submit acceptance letter or letter of intent from college or university you will be attending in the Fall
- Have a copy of Community College Transcript, Letters of Recommendation, Essay, Letter of Acceptance or Intent, and Application mailed ALL TOGETHER to the address below:

HSF MarathonThe HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation
Scholarship Program is a scholarship of up to $10,000 per year. Selected students will receive up to $10,000 for two academic years for a possible total award of $20,000.
In addition, scholars will be offered the opportunity to participate in a possible paid 8-10 week summer internship at various Marathon Oil Corporation locations. Scholars will also be paired with a Marathon Oil Corporation employee who will serve as a professional mentor.
Only students who meet the following eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply:
- Be of Hispanic American, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, or American Indian/Alaskan Native heritage.
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
- Be a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, geology, geophysics, accounting, marketing, global procurement or supply chain management, environmental health & safety, energy management or petroleum land management, transportation & logistics or geotechnical engineering.
- Or be a senior planning to earn a Masters degree in geology or geophysics.
- Agree to participate in a possible paid summer internship opportunity with Marathon Oil Corporation.
- Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Rotary Scholarship Fund offered by Foundation for the Carolinas
The scholarship provides students with up to $2,000 annually to continue their education. The scholarship requirements are as follows:
- Students must be college juniors or seniors with demonstrated academic merit, community service, and financial need
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Preference given to Mecklenburg County residents, Central Piedmont college transfers, and first generation college students

The LACCC Foundation selection criteria for scholarships is the following:
- Be of Hispanic/Latino heritage
· Be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident
· Must apply for Federal financial aid using FAFSA
· Be completing an undergraduate degree or desire to participate in a recognized entrepreneurial institute
· Have a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (if applicable)
· Must live in the Charlotte, North Carolina region
· Provide an official/unofficial transcript or business plan
· Submit an essay of no more than 500 words explaining why you should be the recipient of the scholarship
· Be open to the idea of an internship with selected corporation or local organizations
