President's Scholarship
Purpose: A non-monetary merit based scholarship for recent high school graduates who are attending Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) for the first time. The scholarship will include tuition, books and fees only. The scholarship is renewable the second year based on a 3.0 or better grade point average.
Allowable Fields of Study: Any two-year college transfer program

Criteria:
  • Applicant’s high school academic performance of a B plus or better
  • Demonstrated college potential and good citizenship
  • Recommendation by high school counselor
  • Enrolled for 12 credit hours minimum
  • Attend pre-orientation program provided by CPCC prior to fall semester
Renewal: The scholarship is renewable the second year based on a 3.0 or better grade point average.
Process:
  • Student must contact the Associate Dean for Enrollment and Student Services to receive the President’s Scholarship Program Packet
  • All Charlotte-Mecklenburg high schools are eligible to nominate students meeting scholarship criteria
  • The scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, a statement of the applicant’s personal aspirations and educational goals.
  • The Associate Dean of Enrollment and Student Services or designee will generate award letters to eligible students. After receiving the award letter, the student should contact the sponsor program office, 704.330.4262, to ensure that the award is applied to their registration.
