- Provides part-time employment.
- Funded by the Federal Government
- Allows one to earn a portion of education expenses.
- Provides an average of 15-20 hours/week of work.
- Available to undergraduate and graduate (including Bachelor's) students enrolled at least half-time
- Depends on total FWS award, class schedule, and academic progress.
- Awarded FWS funds are limited to availability of positions, funds, and completion of the interview process.
- There are no term limitations on earnings, provided annual limits on the student's award letter are not exceeded.
- Students are paid on the 15th of each month, and the amount paid is according to the position and the number of hours worked.

- Demonstrate financial need.
- Be enrolled at least 6 credit hours in an eligible program and demonstrate financial need. (For summer, be enrolled in at least one class and demonstrate financial need.)
- Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Make Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Possess skills required for position.
- NOT be in default on a federal loan.
- Complete the following documents:

- Apply to the college and be admitted to an eligible program of study.
- Complete the FAFSA form.
- If you are applying for the Fall 2007, Spring 2008 or Summer 2008, complete the 2007/08 FAFSA form.
- After your FA file is complete and you have been accepted to the College, view our current work study job openings.
- If you meet all qualifications with the required skills, GPA, need, etc., you will be sent to the FWS supervisor to be interviewed for the position you are applying for.
- If hired, the supervisor will notify the Financial Aid Office.
- If hired, complete the required FWS paperwork before you begin work.
- After completion of all paperwork, you will sign a FWS contract.
- You will receive a Federal Work Study Handbook, a copy of the Privacy Act, and a statement to sign.
