About the Futures Institute
Futures Institute, a college unit that will scan the environment, monitor trends, and keep the college focused on innovation and the future.
The Futures Institute at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC)
works to examine, understand, disseminate and use emerging and conceptual ideas and technologies. Such concepts should have some direct application or relevance to the education in general and CPCC's mission in particular.
Under the same leadership as CPCC's Information Technology (IT) and Engineering divisions, the Futures Institute operates as a consolidator of idea, a collaborative partner with various internal and external agencies, and a vehicle for creative and educational partnerships.
Our emphasis varies, and we undertake projects of relevance, and as they evolve pass them on to others, or archive them as appropriate.
CPCC Launches Futures Institute
Innovation has always been a byword at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). Early in its history the college joined a consortium of two-year colleges called the League for Innovation in the Community College.
The strategic plan was developed as a fluid working document that would help to crystallize our thinking and guide our exploration.
