Wilderness EMS

CPCC offers two levels of wilderness EMS training, Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder.These courses will enable the student to identify and manage medical emergencies that occur in a wilderness environment. Successful completion of the courses will result in a two year certification.

This 16 hour class will prepare the student to identify and properly handle commonly occurring medical emergencies with in a wilderness environment utilizing minimal equipment. This class is designed for anyone finding themselves more than one hour from a conventional EMS system. Typical students are scout leaders, climbers, outdoor guides and youth leaders.

Wilderness First Responder — last modified 2008-05-06 08:02

This 24 hour course provides a more comprehensive presentation of wilderness first aid. the student will gain a better understanding of the assessment process, common wilderness emergencies, uncommon emergencies, rescue techniques and CPR.
