Central Piedmont Community College’s Construction Technologies division is home to a variety of programs designed to produce graduates who are prepared to enter today’s construction workforce. Whether you’re interested in pursuing a career in construction; masonry; heating, air conditioning and refrigeration; or electrical/electronics technology, CPCC has a program for you incorporating the latest techniques and theories of green building and renewable technologies.

Construction Management Technologies Degree:
This two-year program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in the field of construction management, both residential and commercial. These careers include project management, estimating or serving a s superintendent or skilled foreman. Course work will include safety, planning and scheduling, cost control, productivity, human relations, estimating, building codes and construction technical skills. Course also includes Spanish for the workplace along with co-op and intern work experience.
 
Crowder Construction Institute:
CPCC’s Crowder Construction Academy allows students to get a head start on a career in Charlotte’s rapidly growing construction industry. Students benefit from the institute’s affordability, innovative curriculum and hands-on approach to learning – applying learned techniques at actual construction sites.  Short-term training is also available to participants in masonry, carpentry, green building and remodeling, along with apprenticeship programs in electrical and plumbing.
 
Cox Schepp Construction Academy:
The Cox Schepp Construction Academy connects high schools students to construction management careers in such growth areas as sustainable construction technology and allows participants to earn FREE college credit that can be successfully transferred to a two- or four-year institution.
 
Electrical/Electronics:
CPCC offers diplomas, certifications and degrees in this field of study to individuals interested in learning more about the installation and maintenance of electrical/electronics systems found in residential, commercial and industrial facilities. Students gain valuable industry experience by participating in a variety of hands-on activities that enhance their knowledge of AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, digital electronics, programmable logic, controllers, industrial motor controls and more.
 
Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration:
Graduates of CPCC’s associate’s degree, certification and diploma programs in air conditioning, heating & refrigeration (AHR) technology learn how to troubleshoot the industry’s “hot” issues such as repairing faulty A/C units or malfunctioning refrigerators and freezers; assisting in the start up, preventive maintenance, service, repair, and/or installation of residential and light commercial systems; and demonstrate an understanding of all HVACR systems.
