A Vision for the Future!

The Center for Sustainabiltiy presents a special program by Mecklenburg Parks and Recrecation.

CPCC's Center for Sustainabiltiy presents a very special (free) presentation at Central Piedmont Community College’s Central Campus, this Tuesday, October 7th in Tate Hall.

 

There are two presentations; one at 11Am and another at 7:30PM. Free parking in the “Staff” parking deck along 4th street.

 

 A Vision for the Future

  •    Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation presents their 10yr Master Plan for increasing green space in our county and what that means for our “environmental wellness”.
  •         Up to date details on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway will be presented including the section that runs through Central Campus.
  •         The county’s tree canopy loss has been of great concern. Hear how the county plans to take measures to change this.
  •         By 2030, it is projected that 90% of Mecklenburg County will be developed!  90%!!!  Come hear how we can “lock in” green space now!

  • Special incentive for attending!  We will be giving away  Park & Rec “Gold Cards” to several lucky audience members who may use the card towards their choice of:  

  •  Admission to Historic Latta Place of Carolina Raptor Center, or 50% of horseback ride at Equestrian Center
  •  Free paddle boat at Colonel Beatty Park
  •  50% camping at McDowell
  •  Free admission to any park w/ a weekend entrance fee, or free admission to Aquatic Center, Rays Splash Planet, or any county pool
