Plumbing Apprenticeship Course Description
The Plumbing Apprenticeship curriculum is designed to give individuals the opportunity to acquire basic skills to assist with the installation and repair of plumbing systems in residential and small buildings.
Course work includes sketching diagrams, interpretation of blueprints, and practices in plumbing assembly. Students will gain knowledge of state codes and requirements.
Graduates should qualify for employment at parts supply houses, maintenance companies, and plumbing contractors to assist with various plumbing applications.
This preparatory apprenticeship training is designed to provide Plumbing Level 1 - Level 4 training required for journeyman plumbers. The program consists of four years of training with a minimum of 144 hours of instruction per year. Courses must be taken in sequence. This course was developed by contractors and the NC Department of Labor. Students in this program are intended to be indentured apprentices with the NC Department of Labor.
