General Education and Horticulture Open House
CPCC to Hold Open House for New General Education and Horticulture Facilities at CPCC Cato Campus.
This spring, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) opened a new general education classroom building on the CPCC Cato Campus (8120 Grier Rd., Charlotte). This new 45,000 square foot building - designed Cato II - houses classrooms, a library, an auditorium and administrative offices. An addition to the existing Horticulture Building was opened at the same time, providing additional classrooms and student study areas. To celebrate these new facilities and promote program offerings at the Cato Campus, CPCC will hold two events on Wednesday, May 16th:
- A VIP Open House event will be held from 10-11 a.m. The morningprogram will include remarks from CPCC President Tony Zeiss, Mr. Wayland H. Cato, Jr. and a Cato Campus student. Invited guests will have an opportunity to tour the facility following the program. Media
representatives are encouraged to attend. - A Community Open House event from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The total community is invited to come and learn more about the various programs available at the CPCC Cato Campus including the Horticulture and Turfgrass Programs, Paralegal Technology program, Interpreter Education program, Basic Skills program and College transfer courses. The evening will begin with a program from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Tours and information booths will be available from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The evening will also include food and door prizes throughout the evening, including a home landscape design consultation by CPCC Horticulture instructor Randy Sigg. This event is free and open to the public.
