CPCC earned the designation of a Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association due to efforts encouraging a healthy lifestyle in the workplace.

CPCC was the first organization in Charlotte and one of two community colleges nationwide to receive this award. Accepting the award were the Be Well committee members. The award will be hung in the Human Resources lobby.

The Be Well committee received the American Association of Community Colleges - NCSPOD Council Innovation Award. This award recognizes achievement in a program, project, or event that demonstrates innovative ideas, adaptations, activities, or approaches that enhance the effectiveness of staff, program, and/or organizational development. The Be Well program was also featured on the Charlotte TV 14 news station.
