This department offers a variety of social sciences courses for students working on 2 year programs and for those who plan to transfer to 4 year institutions. There are courses available in anthropology, college assessment, early childhood training, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.

The department is also participating in the state-wide 1997/99 Curriculum Improvement Project in Psychology and Sociology.
