Lifetime Learning Institute for Boomers
Consistent with our mission to advance the lifelong educational development of mid-life adults, we are offering a “one-stop” for seminars, weekend workshops and courses that address issues of midlife transitions, holistic health and wellness at midlife, exploration of the arts and humanities, civic engagement and creating a vision for what’s next.
Some of the unique and varied offerings include: Retire? Rewire! This is a two day seminar to recharge your batteries and plan for the rest of your life with an insightful and provocative approach, framework and process. Women: Midlife and Beyond is a weekend workshop which gives participants an opportunity to explore issues and life experiences related to changing roles of women as they age. A Playful Approach to Yoga introduces new ways of approaching yoga as we age. The workshop offers traditional yoga techniques in a gentle and playful way. The Image; Writing as Self-Discovery is a writing course that explores images that are all around us. By becoming aware of these images and in the course of writing about them, we can discover ourselves. Introduction to Effective Grant Writing is a half day workshop which introduces participants to grant writing as a potential source of funds for non-for-profit organizations. Use your Expertise to Become a Trainer is a course that will demonstrate how you can take your years of career experience and transfer these skills into an opportunity to become a trainer.
Offerings are available at multiple locations including CPCC’s central campus, the Levine campus in Matthews, North campus in Huntersville as well as the Dowd YMCA. In addition, some of our offerings will be on-line courses that can be taken in the comfort of your own home.
