Instructor for Hardware Fundamentals and Financial Terrorism
Majid Hassan has over twenty five years of experience in the security industry dedicated to the areas of counter terrorism; counter intelligence/industrial espionage; electronic surveillance; and computer forensics. Mr. Hassan teaches Hardware Fundamentals for Law Enforcement at the American Academy of Applied Forensics and also serves on the board of advisors for the academy. He has provided presentations for the United States Secret Service; High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA); American Academy of Applied Forensics; International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators; Techno Security Conference; Southeast Cybercrime Summit; and presented terrorism updates to various police departments across the state of North Carolina. He is the 2006-2007 president of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (Carolinas chapter). He holds a degree in Electronic Communications Engineering and is a certified forensics and steganography examiner.


Detective Tom Kolpacki teaches the Computer Crimes Against Children class with Senior Special Agent Phillip Osborn. Detective Kolpacki is a 17-year veteran with the Ann Arbor [Michigan] Police Department. He has spent the past 10 years assigned to the investigations division and has worked in Internet investigations since 1999. He is also currently assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) for the state of Michigan. He is a Computer Forensic Examiner and serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Detroit-Mercy.


Senior Special Agent Phillip Osborn teaches the Computer Crimes Against Children class with Detective Tom Kolpacki. Special Agent Osborn is currently program manager of the U.S. Customs Cyber Crimes Division, which is part of the Customs Cyber Smuggling Center. Special Agent Osborn has served 22 years in law enforcement, 17 years of that time with U.S. Customs. He has worked in Internet investigations for 13 years and is a Computer Forensics Examiner (DIS/SCERS) who is a designated expert witness in Internet crimes investigations.
